7 gems along the Garden Route, South Africa

29 November 2018

Many people traveling to South Africa have the Garden Route on their bucket list. But few people really get to experience it to the max.

Make no mistake, even the N2, the national road leading you to the major towns along the garden route if definitely not a punishment to travel on, you are enveloped by really beautiful surroundings, surprised by ocean views here and there and the Tsitsikamma Forest is definitely impressive!

But what really makes the Garden Route so unique are the many little bays, beaches and roads that lead to ‘nowhere’. Take that exit with or without a name, follow the road and see where it takes you, chances are that you will be pleasantly surprised!

Here are a few Garden Route secrets we would like to share with you:

  1. Noetzie – near Knysna, this secluded cove has a pristine beach with some lovely houses and even a castle!
  2. Wilderness Heights View Point
  3. Victoria Bay- one of the smallest and most hidden bays along the garden route, very beautiful!
  4. Herold’s Bay beach – a very small (if not smallest) beach and a very quaint coastal village along the garden route
  5. Gerickes Point – near Sedgefield, a very rugged and rocky place, this is the perfect location for nature lovers to go and explore
  6. Brenton on Sea- close to Knysna, a stunning beach with rock pools
  7. Seven Passes Road – a series of interconnected mountain passes between George and Knysna

Go and explore these gems, and make the Garden Route an unforgettable experience! Accommodation is plentiful and available in various levels of luxury and comfort, go and tick these items off your bucket list!
