Er zijn naar schatting 40.000 olifanten in het park en ik denk dat we ze onderweg misschien wel allemaal hebben gezien. De natuur, de vogels, alleen het hele gevoel van de plek is magisch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-3 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Een rit erdoorheen, via Robins Camp en verlaten bij Main Camp (iets wat ik al vele jaren niet heb gedaan) is een goede herinnering aan hoe groot het park is. Het landschap verandert gaandeweg &#8211; van teakbossen naar grasvelden, terug naar bossen en zo gaat het verder &#8230; Stoppen onderweg bij verschillende waterpoelen en platforms en nemen tijd om gewoon te zitten en te kijken wat er kwam en ging &#8230; er was altijd wel iets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Een geweldig gesprek met Godfrey, een nationale parkgids gestationeerd op Masuma Dam, was zo goed voor de ziel. Zijn passie en liefde voor dit park blijkt uit elk woord dat hij uitsprak. Hij zit elke dag urenlang te kijken en zegt dat het altijd verandert en nooit saai is. Veel kattensporen onderweg en waarnemingen voordat we op plaatsen kwamen. We hadden dit keer niet het geluk voor de grote katten &#8230; maar een spot van een serval, fantastisch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De passie van mijn kinderen voor de bush en de natuur blijft groeien en groeien. Hun honger naar kennis is hartverwarmend. En als er maar heel weinig te zien is, verzinnen ze complete onzinliedjes over wat ze hebben gezien. Moge deze liefde lang voortduren. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hwange ligt op een steenworp afstand van Vic Falls. Het is enorm en je krijgt heel zelden (zelfs tijdens &#8216;normale&#8217; tijden) veel voertuigen op \u00e9\u00e9n plek. Ik vind dat een bezoek op ieders bucketlist moet staan.
