The African islands Mauritius and the Seychelles have so much more to offer than just beaches and turquoise water!
The Seychelles as well as Mauritius offer mainly beachfront accommodation, delicious sea food and plenty of opportunities to relax, explore and enjoy water activities. Nature is there and you can do plenty of water and land based explorations.
Both islands offer plenty of luxury beach holidays but there are also a few differences:
Mauritius is just one island with resorts and beaches all around the island. The Seychelles consist of 115 small islands. The bigger ones are well developed and inhabited while the smaller ones are deserted and have sometimes just one lodge or private villa.
Then the Seychelles are for you! The Seychelles have for sure less visitors which are also spread out over different islands. You will have much more privacy and a lodge or resort with 25 beds is described as “a large resort”.
Then Mauritius is for you. Mauritius is a lot busier and attracts a lot more visitors. You will find some exclusive resorts but most resorts have it all: live entertainment, a kids club, golf courses, water sports, buffet restaurants and more…
