This tailor made safari to Zambia has a focus on walking safaris in the remote wilderness of Kafue National Park (Busanga Plains) and South- and North Luangwa National Park. Spend the nights in small bush camps with minimal facilities, back to nature. This is an exclusive safari. Not because of the level of luxury, but because of its exclusivity. Remote bush camps far away from everything. Good for a digital detox with just a few tents.
This is a customized trip. Additional overnight stays, upgrades and route changes are possible on request!

Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport you will be met by our representative who will assist you with baggage and direct you to the domestic check-in counters for your flight to Mfuwe in the South Luangwa, this flight will take just over an hour.
To get to Tafika you can either be driven from Mfuwe Airport which will take about 2 hours, mostly as a game-drive, or opt for a 15 minute flight (at additional cost) into Lukuzi Airstrip which is just 15 minutes’ drive from camp.
The Camp itself, set on a bend in the river, is simple by design with 6 reed and thatch chalets under shady trees, it is outside the National Park but in a game-viewing area, 5 minutes from the park Gate.
The journey from Tafika to Chikoko Tree Camp takes you 8 km upstream from Tafika to a point where you cross the river by boat, the camp is then just a few hundred meters which is conducted on foot.
There are no roads in this area of the Park and so all activities from this camp are on foot.
Accommodation is in 3 grass and thatch en-suite chalets raised above the ground within the surrounding Tree Canopies. This will be your home for 2 nights.
Your next camp, Mwaleshi is set on a bend in the Mwaleshi River deep inside the remote North Luangwa National Park. From Chikoko Camp, you will walk to the river crossing point and transfer by canoe, you then drive for 30 minutes to Lukuzi Airstrip for a 35 minute flight into Mwaleshi Airstrip.
Mwaleshi Camp accommodates up to eight guests in four thatched reed chalets. The game-viewing here is typically good, with plenty of lions in the area and large herds of both buffalo and the endemic Cookson’s wildebeest, as there are very few roads in the area and game viewing is almost all by foot.
A 45 minute flight from Mwaleshi Airstrip will return you to Mfuwe Airport from where your scheduled flight takes you to Lusaka, the road transfer then into the heart of the Kafue National Park will take 4.5 – 5 hours. Jeffrey & McKeith Safaris are a small operations running 2 bushcamps deep in the Kafue National Park, your camp is set close to the Kafue River and provides exclusive access to this little known area of the Park. Your game-viewing will be on foot, from open 4×4 safari vehicles and by boat.
The drive back to Lusaka from Musekese Camp will take 4.5 – 5 hours and will get you there in time to check-in for your onward flight.
