KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK

Uganda

Kidepo Valley National Park

One of Uganda’s most stunningly beautiful reserves, Kidepo Valley stretches across wide swathes of savannah studded with hills and rock clusters, and is traversed by the forest-flanked Lorupei River. It is home to roughly 80 mammal species (28 of which are found at no other park in the country) and is particularly well known for its rich population of raptors.

Best time to visit Kidepo National Park

The best time to visit Kidepo Valley National Park is during the dry months, from September to March. Kidepo is however located in a semi-arid region and can be visited throughout the year. The wet season months (April to August) are pleasantly less hot and bring beautiful scenery.

Wildlife

This park is quite rich in birdlife and is home to many mammals such as elephant, zebra, giraffe, buffalo, cheetah, caracal, lion, leopard and various species of antelope.
