Itinerary

Day 1Johannesburg

Upon arrival you will be met by the driver of your guesthouse, who will take you there for a first night in South Africa.

Day 2,3 Blyde River Canyon - Panorama Route

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport, where you collect your rental car and start your adventure. First stop is the Blyde River Canyon, a beautiful part of the country, from where you can explore the amazing Panorama route.

The lodge does cater for dinner as well, you need to notify them up front.

Day 4, 5, 6Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve

Spend the next 3 nights in utter luxury in the amazing Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, arguably the best place in Southern Africa to spot leopard! Enjoy the game drives, during which you have a chance to spot the big five. Relax around the pool, eat amazing food and just enjoy the African bush!

Day 7, 8, 9Cape Town

After a last game drive and breakfast , you will drive to the Nelspruit Airport, where you will board a plane to Cape Town. Upon arrival, you will collect your rental vehicle for the second part of your journey.

On one of the days a guided day our to Cape Ppoint, Boulders Beach and Kalk Bay will be organised for you.

*if you want, you could opt to not use a rental vehicle in Cape Town, but rather make use of transfers/Uber.

Day 10, 11, 12Stellenbosch

Check out after breakfast and drive to Stellenbosch. This cosy university town is situated in the heart of the Cape winelands and has a real good vibe. You’re surrounded by beautiful mountains and more wine farms than you can imagine!

Take a stroll though beautiful Stellenbosch, eat in one of the many amazing restaurants or have a picnic at one of the many wine farms in the area.

One one of the days we will organise a full day wine tour for you.

Day 13End of itinerary

Today is the last day of your South Africa adventure. We hope you have been able to make memories that will last you a lifetime!

Spend the last day relaxing by the pool or in Stellenbosch.

Drive back to the airport, where you hand in your rental vehicle (with full tank) in time for your flight home.

Yes, after confirmation we will contact you about additional requests. For example a rental car upgrade etc.

Which currency is most widely accepted on this tour?

You can use ZAR and your bank/credit card should be accepted in most supermarkets, lodges and restaurants.

Can I book additional nights?

Yes you can. We can extent this trip. We can even include a Victoria Falls visit or Kruger Park safari.

I would prefer not to drive myself, can we arrange this?

Yes, if you wish we can arrange for transfers/guide for the duration of your trip at an additional cost

We were for the first time in South-afrika. African Travel had made our self driving tour from Johannesburg to Cape town. In 3 weeks we saw so much natur en cultur. The accomodations were splendid en the car and the flight were perfectly organised. The app travel key was of a good and helpfull use. African Travels organized a perfect trip for us (4 people). All locations were selected with care and all hosts had amazing tips and great stories to tell. The lodge in Klaserie was one of the coolest experiences we ever had (with elephants drinking from our pool for which we were very lucky). Furthermore, the contact with African Travels was fast, and they had more than enough cool tips to do during our trip. The application they use with all travel information was also of great help during the trip. We would recommend African Travels to everybody who wants to have an amazing Africa experience.
