Itinerary

Day 1, 2Cape Town

Your start your journey in Cape Town, also known as the Mother City. Upon arrival you will be welcomed at the airport and taken to your guesthouse. The next morning you will be taken to the car rental depot in the centre of Cape Town for collection of your rental vehicle.

Explore the many attractions on the hop-on-hop-off bus, take a drive along Chapmans Peak, visit cape Point, the V&A Waterfront, the penguins at Boulders Beach or take a stroll on one of the many breath-taking beaches! The active amongst you could try to climb Table Mountain, or hike one of the many trails. Soak up the vibes of this amazing city, it never disappoints!

Day 3Hermanus

Hermanus is a charming coastal town along South Africa’s Walker Bay, best known as one of the world’s top destinations for land-based whale watching. From June to November, southern right whales can often be seen close to shore, making the town especially popular during these months.

Beyond whale watching, Hermanus offers beautiful beaches, dramatic coastal scenery and a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. The scenic cliff paths invite long walks with ocean views, while nearby wine estates in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley are renowned for excellent cool-climate wines. With its mix of nature, outdoor activities, art, and fine dining, Hermanus is an ideal stop for travellers seeking both coastal beauty and culinary delights.

Day 5, 6, 7Knysna

Knysna has a stunning lagoon. There is plenty to do here; Go for a sailing cruise or whale/dolphin cruise, visit the many shops at the Waterfront, visit the nature reserve, play a round of golf on one of the amazing courses in the area, visit the Knysna Elephant Park or have cocktails after an oyster tasting at the Project Bar on Thesen Island!

Day 8St Francis Bay

St Francis Bay is a relaxed coastal village on South Africa’s Eastern Cape, famous for its long white beaches, laid-back atmosphere and distinctive thatched-roof houses. It’s a place where life revolves around the ocean and the outdoors, making it ideal for travellers who enjoy nature, water activities and a slower pace of life.

The area is especially popular with surfers, thanks to world-class waves at nearby Cape St Francis, while the sheltered canals of St Francis Bay are perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding and boat trips. Long beach walks, swimming and sunset views are part of daily life here.

Nature lovers can explore the Cape St Francis Nature Reserve, home to coastal fynbos, birdlife and scenic walking trails. The iconic Seal Point Lighthouse is a well-known landmark and a great spot for photographs, especially at sunrise or sunset.

Day 9, 10Sibuya game reserve

Sibuya Game Reserve is a private wildlife sanctuary in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, located along the banks of the Krom River. This intimate and luxurious lodge offers guests the opportunity to experience the African bush in a relaxed and immersive way. The reserve is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species. Day 12, 13Prince Albert

Arrive in the charming Karoo village of Prince Albert, nestled at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains. Continue to Vrisch Gewagt Boutique Olive Farm, a peaceful, family-run olive farm just outside town. After check-in, take time to settle into your stylish cottage and enjoy the wide-open Karoo landscapes.

Spend the afternoon exploring the farm at your own pace. Wander among the olive groves, relax on your private veranda with mountain views, or cool off in the pool. For those wishing to explore further, a short drive takes you into Prince Albert village, known for its art galleries, heritage buildings and excellent local eateries.
As evening falls, enjoy a relaxed dinner in the village or self-cater at the farm, followed by a night under the Karoo’s famously star-filled skies.

Day 14Montagu

Arrive in the historic village of Montagu, set between dramatic red sandstone cliffs and vineyards along Route 62. Check in at Mimosa Lodge, a charming, family-run guesthouse located in a beautifully restored Victorian home, known for its warm hospitality and tranquil garden setting.

Spend the afternoon at leisure. Take a stroll through Montagu’s quaint streets, visit local art galleries, or relax in the lodge’s peaceful garden or by the pool. For those seeking wellness, the Montagu Hot Springs are just a short drive away and offer a perfect opportunity to unwind.

In the evening, enjoy a fine dining experience at Mimosa Lodge’s renowned restaurant, where seasonal ingredients and classic flavours are paired with excellent South African wines. End the day with a restful night in your elegant room, surrounded by the calm of this picturesque Klein Karoo town.

Day 15,16Franschhoek

Nestled in a fertile valley surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, Franschhoek is regarded as the culinary heart of South Africa. Renowned for its world-class wine estates, gourmet restaurants and French heritage, the village offers a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. Spend your days wine tasting, cycling through vineyards or exploring the charming main street filled with boutiques and galleries. Franschhoek is the perfect destination for lovers of fine food, wine and scenic beauty.

Day 17End of itinerary

After breakfast you can drive back to the airport of Cape Town. This is the end of an unforgettable journey!
