A little belated but we did make it back in one piece! Just wanted to let you know that the trip went very smoothly, the campsites were superb and the trip mostly went very smoothly. The real highlight was Khumaga for us, driving conditions were much easier than Chobe, campsite was in a beautiful location and the game viewing along the river front was superb. The car was very reliable, we did make it to Zelda guest farm on the 25th and to the airport the next morning for an on-time family pick up! We will certainly return to Botswana, though likely booking earlier in advance, and we suspect the shorter Toyota Landcruiser with slightly larger wheels would be much easier than the Nissan for our next rental, as we did watch several cruise past us with ease in the sand on a few occasions! It also crossed our mind that the WeTu app could provide more information in terms of general guidance on getting to the next locations, what to expect on arrival etc., given the rest of the booking information is already on there. We really enjoyed the self-navigating and figuring things out along the way, so it was a minor point for our purposes.
Thank you so much for helping us arrange the self-drive trip with such short notice, and for the fantastic service & support along the way, we would be happy to recommend African Travels to anyone interested in a self-drive adventure 🙂
We contacted African Travels for our preparations for a private tour in Botswana and Zimbabwe. We never had any regrets about this decision. African Travels always answered all our questions with advice. They answered more than 100 questions promptly and correctly. Now that’s service! For our next trip (Namibia and Caprivi strip), we definitely go back enlist African Travels for all bookings.
Excellent company- highly recommended
African Travels (and Marinjke) provided us with an excellent and diverse itinerary for our fairly last minute trip to Southern Africa (from Cape Town to Victoria Falls and then back through Botswana). Marinjke was always on hand via email to provide comprehensive price breakdowns and helpful and easy to understand information. She was able to work to our dates and preferred locations and it made for a fantastic trip. The campsites particularly in Namibia were absolutely excellent and of a very high standard. Thank you African Travels for making a trip of a lifetime. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them!
Last year we visited Namibia, this year we decided to travel on our own through Botswana and the northern part of SA. However, it was difficult to book campsites on our own in Botswana, communication with the campsites was bad or we got late responses. Therefore, we decided to contact African Travels for help. It was the best thing we did. Marijnke (owner of African Travels) knows a lot about Afri ca and she knows the most beautiful places. Thanks to her, it was an unforgettable experience!
Communication with African Travels was more than good. Because of the weather, we changed part of the trip. Marijnke was reachable 24/7. She came up with good ideas how to travel and which campsites/accomodations were still available and she also booked the locations for us while we were in desert.
Furthermore, African Travels arranged Read more a very good car for us (Toyota Hillux 4×4) by a trusted partner of them. The owner of the rental company also knew a lot about Africa and told us the most beautiful stories.
I definitely would recommend to contact African Travels if you want to travel trough Africa so that your dream can come true!
