Full predeparture meeting at Victoria Falls on the day prior to departure, Kasane.
Optionals: Chobe National Park – game drives and/or cruise.

Please note:
Flights can be arranged into Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side or Livingstone on the Zambian side. Transfers can then be arranged from either Victoria Falls or Livingstone airport.
All the activities you wish to do prior to departure can be done on either side of the Falls, and the views from both sides are fabulous.
When arranging flights do remember we leave Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe on the first day of the safari so arrive a day or two early to allow time to see the spectacular Victoria Falls and enjoy some of the many adventure sports on offer including white water rafting, the gorge swing and a sunset cruise. The truck arrives in The Falls 3 days prior to departure and you are more than welcome to join us during this time.

Day 3 - 6BOTSWANA - OKAVANGO DELTA

We now take a three day safari into the wilds of the Okavango Delta in a mokoro, the traditional dugout canoe of the Delta boatmen. In our mokoros we are poled deep into the Delta by trained guides, a truly relaxing way to travel and to spot the rich bird life and unusual flora of the Delta, as well as elephant, hippo, crocodile and the special sitatunga and lechwe. Our camp for the night is on one of the small islands in the Delta. During our time here we can also take guided game walks, swim in the clear
waters, take a sunset mokoro ride and perhaps even learn the difficult art of poling. After your safari in the Delta we have one final night relaxing at the camp in Maun.

Please note some months the wine tour is arranged for the day after the safari finishes. Do then allow some overrun on your safari particularly as there is so much to enjoy and explore in and around Cape Town.

Remember we arrive in Cape Town on the last day of the safari. Cape Town is a fascinating city with so much to offer – head out on a wine tour, visit Table Mountain, Robben Island , The Cape of Good Hope Reserve, take a shark dive and explore some fascinating museums. Most clients then leave a few days at the end to relax in Cape Town as well as to enjoy the many sites there are to see in and around this beautiful city.

Please note safari itineraries are given as a guide only. A safari is a journey and true journeys in Africa unfold and are of an adventurous nature. The unexpected can arise, so do allow for this.

Why choose this tour?
We have chosen this overland tour because this local partner has been active in the overland industry for over 35 years. They only use qualified and passionate tour leaders with a big love for Africa and they love their job. They use good materials (truck, tents and cooking equipment), they are a small-scale company with attention for personal contact and satisfaction. They are based in Arusha.

What is different to other tours
-They do not have personal lockers in the truck
-You need to bring your own cutlery
-This trip is made up of components and quite often during the safari you will probably meet clients doing shorter and longer sections of your trip depending on the booking patterns for the months you are travelling. This makes it very dynamic.
-Most lunches are not included.
-There are quit a few optional activities. -This way you can design and control your budget more

We offer a price beat guarantee. Have you seen the same tour somewhere else cheaper? Let us know at the time of booking your tour and we give you the same rate. Only applicable at the time of confirmation. Due to the ever-changing exchange rates we cannot adjust all our prices on a daily basis.

When arranging flights do remember we leave The Falls on the first day of the safari so arrive a day or two early to allow time to see the spectacular Victoria Falls and enjoy some of the many adventure sports on offer including white water rafting, the gorge swing, a sunset cruise and lion walks. We joined this trip in Victoria Falls, the truck had already been travelling for several weeks so the group was well established. At this time a couple of people left and 3 of us joined making the total number on board 14. There were 5 of the original 11 that had started in Kenya and that were travelling all the way to Cape Town. If you are contemplating doing the 73 days my advice would be to book it as you will never regret the experience you will get on an adventure like this. With only 14 on board we had plenty of room to spread out, move around and keep more gear at hand on the truck – at this stage I’m thinking 16 would be about perfect. On this leg the camping grounds and supermarkets were good (a big improvement on those further north I was told). All but two of the camp sites had hot water, most had wifi and a couple even had free wifi. Things were good on board, we all got along ok and we saw some incredible things and visited some great game parks. The scenery and climate changes as we headed south and the optional excursions were good.
On arriving in the Cape it was hard to say goodbye.

My time travelling with Absolute Africa from Zimbabwe to Cape town was amazing. We drove down from Zimbabwe lovingly embracing the African massage on the rougher roads in Wiley (truck name. With our well organised guide Manache and our trusted driver/mechanic Juda – we saw all the sights, did game drives, learnt about African history and of course did some adrenaline activities. The highlight of the tour was cooking outside and camping outside.
Every moment was enjoyable, mostly due to our guide and driver.

The Namibia Nomad tour exceeded all expectations that I had prior to departing. Not only was the route excellent and included a number of interesting stops and activities to partake in, but our guide Peter did an excellent job in coordinating all members of the tour and requisite meals. During the three weeks on the truck I do not recall eating the same dinner twice which speaks to Peter’s cooking prowess. I made many good friends on this tour whilst partaking in a wide range of awesome activities. While some of the drives were stated to be long, they were shorter than I anticipated and were passed quickly by reading and playing games with other members on the tour. Overall a highly recommended tour. The front office staff were extremely contactable and responded to my emails promptly. The staff on the tour were personable and fun too.

This was the first time I was ever to southern Africa and I loved it! I was on the Namibia Nomad Tour, which went from Victoria Falls to Cape Town. The driver JB and the tour guide Troy did a very good job of showing us all animals and what Africa is like. There was always a lot to do and even though it was the rain season, we saw a lot of animals (with babies). Don’t worry about the weather, as in Southern Namibia and South Africa we fully arrived in the dry summer and there was no rain anymore. Namibia Nomad, Jan 16 – Feb 16
