Arrival at the Windhoek International Airport, here you will be met by a Representative. After formalities have been finalized you will walk with your Pilot to the Cessna210.
Your journey will start with flying from the International Airport to Sossusvlei, landing at the Geluk runway. From here you will be transferred to the Lodge.
Kulala Wilderness Reserve, a 40 000ha (98 839-acre) tract of land near the spectacular sights of Sossusvlei, borders the expansive Namib Naukluft Park. The dramatic Sossusvlei dunes are surrounded by rugged, ancient volcanic mountains and open plains dotted with the odd quiver tree. Larger desert-adapted wildlife such as ostrich, springbok and gemsbok (oryx) abound here, along with carnivores such as bat-eared fox, Cape fox, brown hyaena and black-backed jackal. Unique birds include dune lark, Burchell’s courser, Ludwig’s bustard and Stark’s lark. The sands offer refuge to reptiles like shovel-snouted lizard and web-footed gecko.
Early Departure for your Excursions to Sossusvlei and Sesriem, upon return arround Lunch, relax and explore your surroundings until it is time to depart on the Nature Drive.
Depart with a road transfer to the airfield from where you will fly via Doro Nawas to refuel and then further to Hoanib Airfield. Upon arrival you will be greated by a Representative who will transfer you to the Camp (flying Time 2 h 35 min)
Hoanib Skeleton Camp offers upmarket tented accommodation in one of the most remote areas of Kaokoland. The main attraction here is tracking desert-adapted elephant along the dry riverbeds of the region. Wildlife sightings always offer superb photographic opportunities in the little visited Skeleton Coast National Park. Highlights are many and include spectacular scenery, diverse activities and learning how other desert-adapted mammals, bird and plants survive in such inhospitable conditions. Time spent here is well-worth it with oases, shipwrecks, huge sand dunes and a dramatic coastline providing additional desert drama on your activities.
Nature drives showcase the magnitude of the landscape and offer the best possibilities of seeing desert-adapted wildlife. Depart on a Morning and afternoon drives.
In a remote area of the Kaokoveld, with gravel-strewn plains and dry riverbeds that draw fascinating wildlife, lies Hoanib Skeleton Coast. Exploration of this isolated area takes place on game drives along the riverbed’s narrow ribbon of vegetation, where a surprising wealth of desert-adapted animals can be found; in camp the research centre provides even more insights. Depart from Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp to the Etosha National Park, one of the Highlights in Nambia not t be missed.
After landing at the Ongava Runway, you will be transfered to the Lodge.
This afternoon you can already participate on the Game drive with a Customized open-topped safari vehicles which enhance your game viewing around Onguma Reserve.
