There is a place in Africa where the wound of a great rupture promises abundant life in its healing. It is a place of brooding mountains, of Great Plains and whispering lakes – a place that attracts a diversity of life to its wonders – and it was once believed to be the birthplace of consciousness in mankind. Eight lakes make up the Kenya Rift Valley Lake system, two of which are freshwater and the rest alkaline. The large flocks of flamingoes for which the Kenyan lakes have become famous are found on the alkaline soda lakesfeeding on tiny crustaceans.

Welcome in Kenya! Upon arrival you will be met by our local representative in Nairobi. We will tranfer you to your city hotel and brief you shortly on your safari adventure.
Your safari starts at Magadi Lake. It is the southernmost of the great lakes of Kenya and is located 80 km from Nairobi. We will pick you up at the hotel in Nairobi after breakfast and drive towards the Tanzanian border: past the famous Ngong mountains (also known as the film “Beyond Africa”) into the Great Riftvalley. Enroute is Olorgesaille one of the most famous archaeological sites in East Africa where archeologists Louis and Mary Leakey discovered not only the fossils of the early methods of man, but also the world’s largest collection of fist wedges and hand axes. Accompanied by your guide tour the prehistoric site and learn how the early hominids have developed in the savannahs of Africa and why their fossil remains have been preserved over millions of years in the sediment of the lakes. Afterwards drive to Magadi. On the lakeside you will experience flamingo colonies, pelicans, goshawk and other water birds. Then cross the lake on the road to Ol ‘Kiramatian and learn how the salt mixtures are mined at the lake. From there it´s not far anymore to Lentorre Lodge.
Deep in the heart of the Great Rift Valley, beyond the volcanic lunar landscape surrounding the soda lakes of Magadi and Natron, deep in the heart of the Olkirimatian Conservancy, lies the oasis of Lentorre. Fed by crystal clear springs running off the South Loita and Nguruman escarpments, Lentorre provides the perfect spot to relax and soak in the wonders of a wild and untouched Africa.
Lentorre is set on a spur running off the Nguruman Escarpment beside a natural spring in the heart of the Olkiramatian Conservancy, a community initiative developed by the local Maasai community to protect their wildlife, traditional lifestyle and their heritage.
Nestled in this natural amphitheatre, Lentorre provides uninhibited views of Mt Shompole, Ol Donyo Gelai and the active volcano Ol Donyo Lengai. The spring behind the lodge provides a constant source of cool fresh water and sustains a grove of venerable tamarind trees where the Olkiramatian warriors traditionally met as they came of age and elephants continue to gather to feed on ripe tamarind.
Comprising of four large villas that hold either a double or twin bed configuration, a family villa and a honeymoon villa, the lodge has a maximum capacity of just 16 guests. Each villa is a separate, stand-alone structure with an un-spoilt view of the wilderness looking towards Shompole Mountain. Each villa has its own dedicated plunge pool, incredible power shower and some have a luxurious bathtub.
With no fence and a well visited water hole with adjacent game blind you really do feel close to nature. Take take time out to relax and enjoy the view from your very own plunge pool in your home away from home.

You will drive to Nairobi for your flight to Maasai Mara Game Reserve, so named to mean the “spotted plains” in Maa language. This is home to the greatest concentration of large mammals and is widely recognized as Africa’s ultimate wildlife reserve. The park is the northern extension to the vast Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, famous for its annual migration of wildebeest. Flight and transfer to the lodge with a game driver en route and after check-in enjoy hot lunch. Later in the evening enjoy a game viewing drive in this spectacular place of breathtaking sceneries, never-ending plains and the most abundant variety of wildlife remaining anywhere in the world. The landscape is made up of rolling savannahs dotted with patchy shrubs and bush thickets.
During your stay, you have the opportunity to explore this great reserve in depth. You may see elephant, giraffe, prides of lion, and thousands of impala, topi, grants and Thomson’s gazelle. Birds are prolific including immigrants, 450 bird species have been recorded among them 57 birds of prey. The Mara is the scene of annual migration of millions of wildebeest up from the Serengeti plains in search of water and grasses. While in Mara, you will have the option to float above the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem on board a hot air balloon followed by a gourmet champagne breakfast.
You will stay at Mahali Mzuri. Mahali Mzuri means ‘beautiful place’ in Swahili, and we hope you agree! Mahali Mzuri is Sir Richard Branson’s 12-tented luxury safari camp located in the private Olare Motorogi Conservancy in the wider Maasai Mara ecosystem in Kenya. Due to Mahali Mzuri’s excellent location on the Kenyan plains, you’ll have a front row seat, not just to the annual great migration, but also to the abundant game you can see all year round. During your twice daily game drives, you will have the opportunity to see lions, wildebeest, elephants, giraffes and cheetahs, but that’s just for starters!
At Mahali Mzuri, the super stylish tented suites make for the perfect retreat during your stay. The camp can cater for up to 24 guests in the camp at any one time, so you are guaranteed peace and quiet, as well as excellent customer service at all times. In the safari camp itself the luxury tents come complete with ensuite bathroom, private deck and breath-taking views. In the centre of the 12 tents is the Main Tent. Here, at the heart of our Camp, is our relaxing lounge with an open fireplace and a large decked area where breakfast and lunch is served. Just a short distance from the Main tent is our 12-metre infinity swimming pool, big enough for a leisurely swim or a refreshing dip.
