Pictures of Accommodation

Comfort and service in the wild
African Travels takes the view that your accommodations are just as important as the safari itself. That is why we make sure that the accommodation we book for you is of excellent standard. Virtually all accommodations are built according to the same principle, in a central location, with a partly open restaurant surrounded by a varying number of guest rooms sleeping two or more people. Each room has its own bathroom facilities. What they all share in common is the incomparable, unique safari atmosphere. The rooms are decorated with natural materials and colours, with romantic mosquito nets draped over large beds with soft and comfortable duvets and lovely crisp linens. Imagine watching the sun set over the breathtaking landscape, or chatting by the fire al fresco, under the stars. These memories will last you a lifetime. At night, you will sleep like a baby, and if you don’t, you can listen to the orchestra of the wilderness. Can you hear the elephants, the lions or the hyenas? Dinner and breakfast offer a wide choice of African and western dishes, usually served as a buffet. More and more accommodations feature swimming pools.

Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi

Welcome in Kenya!

Upon arrival at JKIA Nairobi airport you will be met by our customer service representative and checked in your hotel and rest for your safari.
If you arrive early morning you could visit some of the highlights of Nairobi, like the giraffe center and/or Karen Blixen.

Days 2 - 4Masai Mara

Today you will be collected by your guides at 8 a.m. at your hotel. After a few hours drive through rural Kenya, you will arrive at the Masai Mara. After lunch you will start your first game drive! You will travel during the great wildebeest migration. Your guide will for sure drive towards the Mara river crossing.

Talk to your guide what time you would like to start and finish.

Day 5Lake Victoria

Today you drive towards the Tanzanian border. You will say good bye to your Kenyan guide and meet your Tanzanian guide.
After a short drive you reach Lake Victoria where you will spend the night. Enjoy the sunset.

Days 6 - 7Seronera

The following days you will explore the vast plains of the Serengeti. You will have a good chance to encounter the migration here as well as they move towards Kenya.

Day 8Ngorongoro Crater

After early breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Crater where you will drive down to the bottom of this unique eco system.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is a conservation area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated 180 km (110 mi) west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The conservation area is administered by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, an arm of the Tanzanian government, and its boundaries follow the boundary of the Ngorongoro Division of Ngorongoro District. The Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera, lies within the area.

Day 9End of itinerary

Today is your final day. Your guide will drop you off at the JRO airport. There might be time to stop at some of the craft markets for some souvenir shopping.
We hope you enjoyed your African safari experience!
