When travelling with African Travels, your holiday is financially protected by the GGTO, the Dutch Guarantee Fund. We offer all our travelers from anywere around the world the guarantee that they will be reimbursed for any payments made for trips including airfares, in the event that we declare financial insolvency. It is a comforting feeling indeed. Guaranteed travelling!
The acronym GGTO stands for Garantiefonds voor Gespecialiseerde Touroperators (Guarantee Fund for Specialist Tour Operators). The affiliated tour operators work independently and are specialist direct sellers. They sell their trips directly to their clients without intermediaries. Furthermore, they are officially registered in the Netherlands.
The Guarantee Fund GGTO was established in January 2012 and now offers guarantees to the customers of 285 specialist tour operators. The Guarantee Fund GGTO guarantees travellers who have booked through one of the affiliated tour operators that they will be reimbursed the prepaid part of the travel cost if the tour operator suffers financial insolvency as a result of which the trip cannot take place. This is valid before departure as well as during the trip.
Moreover, the Guarantee Fund GGTO underwrites your return trip for the length of your stay if the tour operator, due to financial insolvency, can no longer take responsibility for this.
Every package holiday dealer is legally required to provide a guarantee scheme such as this one (Civil Code 7 Article 7:512)
