This is a self drive eco experience on the beautiful island of Mauritius. This is a complete Mauritius experience where you focus on the off the beaten track parts of the island. 

The highlights of your holiday to Mauritius will be cultural tours in the towns and villages of Mauritius. They will give you the opportunity to better understand the history and culture of the Mauritian nation. The respectful marine expeditions to observe marine wildlife such as the dolphins and the whales in their natural habitat. Hiking the numerous peaks of the island, the not to be missed the legendary Le Morne Brabant with views over the famed underwater waterfall and the iconic Pieter Both.  Eating at a local’s table – experiencing Mauritian gastronomy will never get better than that. Learning how to play the Ravanne, an ancestral musical instrument that is key for the Sega, the traditional dance of Mauritius.  Coastal trekking experience to discover pristine beaches and learn about the importance of coastal forest ecosystems.

Overlooking the vast Indian Ocean and built over basaltic cliffs, this Eco-Lodges’ view will take your breath away. Far away from the bustle and hustle of civilization, the rooms are nested at the south-most tip of the island, in what is considered the wild south coast of Mauritius. Experience a quiet and peaceful retreat in its simple yet perfectly equipped lodges, by the sea-view pool and enjoying delicious meals prepared by the local chef.

Day 2Mauritius South Coast

Electric biking on the South Coast.

A fantastic immersion into the untouched nature and culture of the South of Mauritius. You’ll ride through the beautiful beaches of St. Felix and Riambel and the famous cliffs of Gris Gris and La Roche qui Pleure. The integrated electric motors of your bike will help you cover a long distance while preserving this area CO2-free.
In one of your stops, Madame Mala will welcome you at her place and treat you for lunch in the most authentic way.

Guided hike to the Black River Gorges National Park

Join for a 3h hike within Mauritius’ National Park and explore the magnificent African landscapes the West of Mauritius has to offer.

Day 5Tamarin

Tamarin cruise on stand up paddle is included. Discover the secret corners of the Tamarin River, it’s flora and fauna, on a smooth and romantic sunset cruise during the golden hour. At the end of the excursion, your local guide will invite you for a drink on the lively beach to wave the sun goodbye.

Guided hike to Le Morne, UNESCO Heritage Site & Ilot Fourneau

You shouldn’t miss is the stunning view from Le Morne Brabant. Afterwards head for a guided walk across a lagoon to Ilot Fourneau. There you will find a secret beach, all for yourselves!

Day 7Tamarin

Scuba Diving in Mauritius West Coast
Tucked in the garage of his parents’ home, Christophe opened a diving center 15 years ago to share his passion for marine life. The center is well-known by confirmed divers across the island, who won’t mind driving a long distance to go on an underwater expedition with the friendly instructors they grew fond of at this center. Daniel Pelicier, Christophe’s father, was instrumental to the exploration of Mauritius reefs. He discovered several fish species in the Indian Ocean that, until today, carry his own name. Christophe started a diving business out of his inherited passion for diving, inviting travelers to his favorite diving spots in his traditional wooden boat. Expect small groups of divers and a service of excellence from dive masters certified PADI and CMAS.

Agricultural immersion in PEAS Farm model

Manoj and Sadna run a not so traditional farm at the heart of Mauritius. In our mission to include locally designed and run projects into tourism, we invite travellers to learn first hand from a Mauritian farmer the methods and differences between hydroponics, aquaponics and organic agriculture.
Following a generous collection of crops, get ready to cook a traditional meal in Sadna’s kitchen.

Day 10Grand Baie

Sea-kayaking to the isolated Amber Island. Paddle your kayaks across the lagoon up to Amber Island, where you’ll navigate through canopies of mangroves and enjoy a snorkeling session in its natural aquarium.
You’ll land in the island to explore its ruins and surroundings, and enjoy a local energy snack with your intrepid, local guides.

Day 11Grand Baie

Immersion to Sega tipik & playing the ravanne Daniela Bastien, a talented poet who beautifully plays ravanne, will welcome you at her home. Around a Mauritian tea, you will start your introduction to this instrument inherited from the times of slavery, made from the skin of goat. Let your mind travel with the flagship titles of the great talents of the traditional Mauritian sega.

Day 12, 13, 14Grand River South East

Check in at Otentic Eco-Tent, spend the next couple of days relaxing.

Otentic eco-tent Glamping experience in the most eco-conscious and original way. Expect dry and cozy nights thanks to the well-equipped and elevated tents, and enjoy a detoxicating, romantic stay away from everyone and everything.
