Beach & Bush, the best of both worlds. This is a great honeymoon with all ingredients needed for the ultimate Africa experience! Outside of the safaris there is plenty time to spend time together and enjoy the magnificent accommodations.
The journey starts with a classic safari along the highlights of Kenya with a private driver. Enjoy game drives in the Masai Mara, Amboseli National Park and Lake Naivasha. You will spend the second week on Zanzibar. From your comfortable accommodation you can walk straight into the turquoise blue sea and look out at the amazing white sandy beaches. There is plenty to do for the active people: water sports, nature trails, bike rides and more, but we can also make the safari days more active if there is a desire!
We are tailormade itinreary specialists, so talk to us! Kenya is the classic safari country and excellent for a first introduction to Africa.
Accompanied by your own private guide/driver you enjoy extreme game drives in the national parks, searching for the Big 5 and other animals. In consultation with the guide, you decide what time you want to start and end the day, how long you want to stand at a water hole without being disturbed by the pace of travel of others.
Small-scale accommodations
African Travels uses small-scale locations with a beautiful view and excellent location for the planned excursions as much as possible. At the accommodations you dine without the guide, who stays in the guide’s accommodation with the other guides. He/she may be invited once, but they always like to discuss with their colleagues and gather information for the next day. Included meals are mentioned in the itinerary.
Seedball project
We make a standard contribution to the Seedball project in Kenya. As a traveler you can scatter plants during your trip to promote reforestation.
This is a tailor-made trip. Extra nights, upgrades and route changes are possible on request! The detailed day description will be added to the itinerary.

Welcome in Kenya!
Upon arrival you will be met by our representatives with a meet & greet and taken to the hotel.
Today you can choose whether you want a relaxing day or do something.
You can take a first safari in Nairobi National Park, visit the giraffe park, visit Karen Blixen museum or a bead factory or take a tour to one of the townships accompanied by a local guide.
Bordering the capital Nairobi, in beautiful Kenya, Nairobi National Park is one of Africa’s smallest parks and one of the few parks on earth that is so close to a city center. It has a large and varied flora and fauna, set in wide open grassy plains with a number of skyscrapers in the background. It is home to one of Kenya’s most successful rhino sanctuaries with the world’s highest concentration of black rhino. The wetland areas are rich in bird life and are home to more than 400 bird species.
Time for safari! After breakfast and check-out, travel to Amboseli National Park.
The park is known for its many animals and beautiful landscape, dominated by the mighty Kilimanjaro. It provides a nice contrast to the dusty and dry image, which is partly caused by the volcanic ash that comes from Kilimanjaro. Despite the appearance, there is a permanent supply of water, which is filtered between the volcanic rocks of Kilimanjaro due to melting snow. These streams flow underground, creating fresh green areas and creating two clear water sources in the park.
Amboseli National Park offers very good chances of seeing African wildlife as vegetation is sparse due to the long, dry months. The protected area is home to elephant, buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, spotted hyena, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest.
Swara Acacia camp is a great stop en route to the Masai Mara. You can opt to go for a bicycle ride or take a walk https://www.swaraacacia.com/index.php/activities
Endless safaris in the Masai Mara
You continue to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. This is home to the largest concentration of large mammals and is widely known as Africa’s ultimate safari destination. The park is the northern extension of the Serengeti-Mara eco system, known for the annual wildebeest migration. With a game drive on the way you will be brought to the lodge. After you have checked in, a hot lunch is on the program. Later in the evening another game drive will take place in this spectacular place. Enjoy endless plains, and of course lots of wildlife.
The Masai Mara is especially famous for the big cats that are often sighted, but there are many more animals that can be found here, such as the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino), Cheetah, Giraffe, Hippo, zebra, gazelle, hartebeest.
The next day you have a full day to explore the Masai Mara. Our guide will take you on a full day safari with picnic lunch.
On the way to the Masai Mara you can stop at a Masai settlement. Our guide knows the less touristy places.
When will the Great Migration take place? https://africantravels.com/en/highlights/masai-mara/
Today you leave the Mara and travel to Lake Naivasha.
Lake Naivasha is the highest of all the Rift Valley lakes (the Great Rift Valley), and despite not being fed from the outside, it is one of only two freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley. Surrounded by papyrus and acacia trees, this beautiful lake attracts a wide variety of bird species. Even though Lake Naivasha is over 10 kilometers long and wide, it is very shallow, so its final size depends on the amount of rain that falls. So dependent, in fact, that the lake dried up completely at the beginning of the 20th century.
Enjoy a boat trip on the lake here.
If you prefer to be active, you can go on a bicycle safari in Hells Gate National Park in the afternoon. Hell’s Gate National Park is half an hour’s drive from the famous Lake Naivasha and is therefore ideal for a half-day visit. For active travelers, this park is especially a welcome change during your safari. You can discover this park by bike!
African buffalo, eland, hartebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, zebra and baboons are common. The park is also home to the klipspringer antelope and Chandler’s mountain reedbuck. Many bird species, there are over 100 species of birds in the park, including vultures, Verreaux’s Eagles, augur buzzards and swifts.
Today you travel back to Nairobi. The guide will drop you off at Nairobi airport for the flight to Zanzibar.
Here you have a week to fully enjoy the island. The lodge has a diving center, bars are within walking distance.
Zanzibar Island (locally known as ‘Unguja’) is characterized by beautiful white sand beaches fringed by palm trees and surrounded by turquoise waters with coral reefs teeming with an abundance of exotic marine life. This underwater paradise is a mecca for water sports enthusiasts who flock here for the excellent diving, snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, water skiing and sailing on traditional local dhows.
When you are on your honeymoon we will make it an extra special experience.
Transfer back to the airport in time for your outbound flight. On request we can book a day room so you can still enjoy the beach and ahve a shower before you depart.
We hope this honeymoon has exceeded all expectations and that it was the ultimate dream honeymoon!
On request, we can quote you on an upgrade of your accommodation.
As this is a tailor-made tour, we can add another destination, extra nights etc. for you according to your wishes.
We can add extra nights or extra locations to your proposal as per your preferences.
