Tour Details

This short trip is perfect for those wanting a deeper understanding of the Masaai tribe followed by a safari to the Masai Mara. It can also be the perfect add on to your Tanzanian or Uganda holiday.

What to expect? In general, there are Maasai community guides accompanying each group throughout the day, customizing the daily program to be sure they have as much or little activity as they wish, and if there are any local ceremonies or events taking place we bring them along for that. You will be considered as a part of the community when you are with the Maasai Clan of Maji Moto. It’s a very special and beautiful experience.

Under the guidance of your own private guide / driver you continue to enjoy endless game drives exploring the national park, looking for the Big 5 and other animals. In consultation with the guide you determine what time you want to start the day and what time you like to return to the lodge.

Comfort and service in the wild
African Travels takes the view that your accommodations are just as important as the safari itself. That is why we make sure that the accommodation we book for you is of excellent standard. Virtually all accommodations are built according to the same principle, in a central location, with a partly open restaurant surrounded by a varying number of guest rooms sleeping two or more people. Each room has its own bathroom facilities. What they all share in common is the incomparable, unique safari atmosphere. The rooms are decorated with natural materials and colours, with romantic mosquito nets draped over large beds with soft and comfortable duvets and lovely crisp linens. Imagine watching the sun set over the breathtaking landscape, or chatting by the fire al fresco, under the stars. These memories will last you a lifetime. At night, you will sleep like a baby, and if you don’t, you can listen to the orchestra of the wilderness. Can you hear the elephants, the lions or the hyenas? Dinner and breakfast offer a wide choice of African and western dishes, usually served as a buffet. More and more accommodations feature swimming pools..

Seedball project
We contribute as standard to the Seedball project in Kenya. As a traveler you may scatter native seeds during your journey to promote reforestation.
