Comfort and service in the wild
African Travels takes the view that your accommodations are just as important as the safari itself. That is why we make sure that the accommodation we book for you is of excellent standard. Virtually all accommodations are built according to the same principle, in a central location, with a partly open restaurant surrounded by a varying number of guest rooms sleeping two or more people. Each room has its own bathroom facilities. What they all share in common is the incomparable, unique safari atmosphere. The rooms are decorated with natural materials and colours, with romantic mosquito nets draped over large beds with soft and comfortable duvets and lovely crisp linens. Imagine watching the sun set over the breathtaking landscape, or chatting by the fire al fresco, under the stars. These memories will last you a lifetime. At night, you will sleep like a baby, and if you don’t, you can listen to the orchestra of the wilderness. Can you hear the elephants, the lions or the hyenas? Dinner and breakfast offer a wide choice of African and western dishes, usually served as a buffet. More and more accommodations feature swimming pools.

Day 1Arrival in Arusha

Welcome in Tanzania! Our driver will pick you up from the airport and will bring you to Moshi.

Day 2Tarangire National Park

Today your safari starts in Tarangire National Park. This magnificent area is characterized by rolling country, the gorge (a deeply embedded river) which seldom runs dry, small swamps, acacias and the enormous baobab trees. The game park has a relatively large population of African elephants. There are also buffalos, cheetahs, hyenas and lions to be seen.

If you like to learn more about the Masai Tribe, a Masai Home Stay is an unforgettable experience. Especially for children. After breakfast your guide will collect you at the lodge and take you to a traditional Masai village. You will spend the night – an unforgettable experience for both adults and children.

You will discover the medicinal plants of Maasai medicine with a naturopathic guide. On this walk you will have the opportunity to learn everything about the Maasai culture from your guide, gaining a deep insight into the everyday life of the people. Now at the latest you will understand what an original boma looks like and you will be happy to return to your own boma and much more!
