Visitors can look forward to a wide variety of activities such as: biking through this beautiful landscape, exploring the Njorowa Gorges, discovering two extinct volcanoes – Olkaira and Hobley’s, and camping under the sparkling Kenyan night sky. Popular activities include: walking safaris, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking and game viewing. Commonly spotted wildlife include: giraffe, zebra, eland, gazelle, buffalo, zebras, hartebeests, baboons and over 100 bird species.
Hell’s Gate can be visited throughout the year, there is a fairly good chance to see wildlife. Because of all the outdoor activities that are provided in this park, the dry months (June-March) are probably a better time to travel.
African buffalo, moose, hartebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, zebra and baboons are common. The park is also home to the klipspringer antelope and the Chandler mountain reedbuck.
There are many bird species in Hell’s Gate, there are over 100 species of birds in the park, including vultures, Verreaux’s eagles, gherkins and common swifts.
