The best time to visit Matopos National Park is during Zimbabwe’s long dry winter from June to October.
Zimbabwe, like its neighbours Zambia and Botswana has a very similar climate with the rainy season running from November through to mid April. The cooler winter months are drier.
Animal that can be encountered in this park include giraffe, hippo, hyeana, cheetah, rhino, wildebeest and zebra. Antelope species such as eland, tsessebe, klipspringer and kudu are also present.
