This park is well worth a vist, as many wild animals live in this national park. Aberdares is home to the second biggest herd of black rhinos, so big chance that you will spot one. Also, animals like African elephant, lion, leopard, antelope, baboon and colobus do live in Aberdares. The park is located on a height of 3000m and therefore it’s quite rainy most of the times. During the rainy season, which is from March till May and October till December, the roads are impassable. Good months to visit this park are January, February and June until September.
You can see a lot of wildlife in this park, sometimes you don’t even have to leave your hotel. If you would like to venture into the park though, the dry season from June to September would probably be best.
Animals in this park include lion, black rhino, elephant, buffalo, leopard, hyaena, as well as rarer species such as the Golden cat, Giant forest Hog, Bongo, and there are over 290 bird species recorded.
