Aberdare National Park is a higher located national park, about 100 km north from Nairobi. This has become a national park in order to protect the Aberdares Mountains, which located in this area. Due to its higher location, it’s mostly wet and foggy. During the rainy season most of the roads are not accessible.
This park is well worth a vist, as many wild animals live in this national park. Aberdares is home to the second biggest herd of black rhinos, so big chance that you will spot one. Also, animals like African elephant, lion, leopard, antelope, baboon and colobus do live in Aberdares. The park is located on a height of 3000m and therefore it’s quite rainy most of the times. During the rainy season, which is from March till May and October till December, the roads are impassable. Good months to visit this park are January, February and June until September.
