Arusha National Park

Arusha national park offers great scenic beauty with thick forests, undulating hills, lakes and craters. This park allows for great chances of viewing colobus monkeys, which are some of the most interesting primates with long white tails and vestigial thumbs. The name Colobus is derived from the Latin language meaning mutilated one, as they do not possess a thumb.

Best time to visit Arusha National Park

The best time to visit Arusha National Park is during the dry season from June to October. It is easier to spot animals – as they normally gather around the waterholes, rainfall is minimal, the bush is not too thick.

Wildlife

This park is quite unique and does not offer the usual animals that can be found in the other parks. There are no lion and rhino in the park. The black- and white colobus monkey is the drawing card for this park. Other animals that can be seen are giraffe, hippo, warthog, elephant, leopard, hyena, wild dog and cheetah.
