Kaokoveld can be visited throughout the year, but the climate is most pleasant during the winter months, from May to September. The region turns a stunning green after rainfall, but the exact timing of the rains is hard to predict, and it doesn’t rain much during the wet season.
Kaokoveld is not a wildlife destination, but a few animals roam the place and are sometimes seen. These include gemsbok (oryx), springbok and zebra. The Kunene River houses loads of hippos and crocodiles.
Namibia has many highlights, ranging from wildlife in Etosha National Park, the third largest canyon in the world and the highest sand dunes!
